Discover AD LIB, Coral Gables’ Newest Culinary Gem!

It was a sad day when beloved Swine Southern Table & Bar closed. The City Beautiful had been home to the gastronomic hub for years and it had become a staple in the community. However, the sadness was soon lifted off our shoulders with the news that 50 Eggs restaurant group was to bring a new restaurant to the location.

AD LIB – Latin for impromptu “at will” – is a chef-driven restaurant located in 2415 Ponce de Leon. It is led by, James Beard Award winner, Executive Chef Norman Van Aken and, two-time James Beard finalist, Executive Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith.

Rooted in authenticity and home of the pleasantly unexpected, AD LIB fosters a humble and understated elegance discovered best by those with a refined attention to detail and curiosity for all things culinary. Because it serves as a place to gather with friends, go on a date to, host out-of-towners, visit with business colleagues or have your special celebrations this is the type of place that brings people together.

The modern American cuisine restaurant features a menu that promises sustainable, wild caught fish and seafood, responsibly sourced meats and local produce from different farms throughout the seasons. Guests will be able to experience approachable, comforting and refined dishes. Their flavor-forward lunch, dinner, dessert and lounge menus will keep you coming back for more. Enjoy savory dishes like Day Boat Scallops, Crispy Skinned (dinner) or Grilled (lunch) Branzino, Spaccatelli Pasta and Ribeye and sweet options such as Strawberry Pavlova, Bittersweet Chocolate Tart and Daily Selection Of Petit Fours.

We cannot forget to make mention of mixologist Sam Ross, who’s come up with an impressive cocktail menu including Light & Bright and Big & Bold concoction variations, and sommelier Daniel Toral in charge, of course, of all things wine.

Restaurant hours are Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lounge hours are Monday to Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to close.
