Live Music in Coral Gables
There’s nothing more enjoyable than a glass of wine, a plate of good food and a night out with friends or family accompanied by live music.
In Coral Gables, our restaurants are so much more than just places to eat, they’re cultural and community hubs where you can experience cuisine from around the world and international music played by local artists.
Whether you’re strolling by, stopping in for a beverage or enjoying a multi-course meal, here’s a guide to live music in Coral Gables that will bring a bit more rhythm into your life:
Uvaggio was founded on the idea of transporting a bit of European style to a wine bar in Coral Gables, so it should come as no surprise that they’ve packed their nights with live music to complete the vibe. Their musicians set up on the beautiful new sidewalks of Miracle Mile and play for the patrons both inside and out to enjoy. Come for the blues on Bluesday Tuesdays featuring FerroMiami and wind down with smooth jazz on Wednesdays with special guests from the Frost School of Music to entertain. Jazz up your weekday with their delicious bites, wine from their interesting and usual wine list, and live music.
At Open Stage Club, music lovers will find programming every night including karaoke Wednesday’s where you can take the stage! If the spotlight isn’t your thing, no worries, you can kick back with a bite and a beer or cocktail and enjoy the show without the pressure to perform any night of the week.
Over at John Martin’s it’s not all Irish jigs and jukebox favorites, on Saturday nights you can enjoy live music from talented performers at the Irish Pub & Restaurant. If you ever need a pick me up, this is the place for you. What’s better than a bit of live music and a pint to bring up your spirits, especially when the live bands mix in sing-along favorites and some Irish tunes? Dig into the meatloaf and enjoy a Guinness while the music plays!
On Thursdays and Saturday nights its flamenco night at La Taberna Giralda, you’ll find a bit of authentic Spain alive at the Spanish restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation; it’s a popular weekly event where the crowd is full of regulars who have long been in on this secret. Stomp your heels along and clap your hands to the raucous traditional Spanish music accompanied by dancers, usually in traditional dress. The only thing that can make it better is a glass of sangria and a spread of tapas and, lucky for all of us, they have that too.
On a Friday night, you can find live music, direct from Spain at Bellmont on Miracle Mile – yes, that means three nights a week you can find Spanish entertainment in Coral Gables. Diego Marcos, a singer, composer and guitarist, plays every Friday night much to the delight of those who flock to Bellmont for the authentic Spanish food at this family run restaurant. Order paella and sit back with your own family to feel like you’ve been transported to Spain while enjoying a meal and music in Coral Gables.
Books & Books, as we all know, is so much more than a bookstore. It’s a place for celebrating culture and the arts, music included. Every Friday and Saturday night they host a musician in their beautiful courtyard. Order a glass of wine or a craft beer and a bite from their newly revamped menu, now featuring a healthy spin, and enjoy the music by local acoustic acts. Take a walk inside and ask one of their staff to guide you towards the latest memoir by a famous musician (M Train by Patti Smith, perhaps?) or towards an art book with a music theme so that you can take a bit of the magic home with you.
Saturdays are set aside for live music at Tarpon Bend where musicians play two sets from noon – 4 PM and 7 – 11 PM. It’s an entire afternoon of tunes and grooves for you to enjoy on your day off at the Raw Bar & Grill!
The Local Craft Food & Drink is a gastropub with excellent craft cocktails and beer, and an inventive menu that takes bar food to the next level. No fine bar is complete without a bit of live music to liven up your pub experience. Enjoy live music on Wednesday nights from 7 – 11 PM. Dig into their signature burger that has earned a pretty serious cult following over the years or order up something a bit lighter like Florida Littleneck Clams and enjoy great food, drink and conversation along with your own live music soundtrack.
And last but not least, at La Dorada. They’re cooking exceptional quality seafood imported from Spain every day in the kitchen and outside they’re entertaining you with a duo of musicians on Friday and Saturday nights. Expect music ranging from classical Spanish acoustic to songs of today that you’ll recognize, a bit of jazz and a pleasant ambiance to go with your high end Mediterranean cuisine.
