Aura Reinhardt named Executive Director of the Business Improvement District of Coral Gables
Venny Torre, President of the Business Improvement District of Coral Gables announced that the organization’s Board of Directors has named Aura Reinhardt Executive Director effective June 15, 2020.
“Aura is a highly motivated leader and has experience in business and community relations at all levels,” said Venny Torre, President of the Coral Gables BID. “We’re thrilled that she’s joining the team and confident that we’ll benefit from her ability to navigate the intricacies of Coral Gables.”
Reinhardt will provide strategic marketing and advocacy leadership for the downtown businesses and succeeds Taciana Amador, who will leave the BID in August after 20 years of dedicated service. During her tenure, Amador has successfully managed the growth of the BID to more than 350 members and overseen key improvement projects like Streetscape, the BID Overlay and numerous marketing initiatives that brought thousands of visitors to the downtown area.
“I am excited to step into a leadership role in the city where I have served in a volunteer capacity for many years. While it is a critical time in Coral Gables and the world, it is an extraordinary time when making a difference will be championed by the businesses, residents, and city leadership,” says Reinhardt.
An accomplished marketing communications executive, Reinhardt has developed and implemented community relations strategies and policies to promote and protect business interests throughout her career. For 10 years she worked for Bacardi NA as VP Corporate Relations where she developed key relationships with Coral Gables leaders in business, culture, and local government. She has served on numerous non-profit boards in the City Beautiful, including the Coral Gables Museum, the Coral Gables Community Foundation, and the Coral Gables Art Cinema, of which she is also a founding member.
Nick Sharp, BID Treasurer and proprietor of Threefold Cafe, said that Reinhardt was joining the BID at a critical time. “In the current COVID-19 climate, the Business Improvement District needs someone with demonstrated creativity, out-of-the box thinking and a proven ability to balance the needs of our local businesses and the requirements of city agencies.
